Directory Submission

The very first thought of directory submission reminds me of Yahoo and Open Directory (dmoz.org). Earlier Started as a free resource but later it went to a paid model. The open directory is a completely volunteer driven effort. If you have a website for many years, must be listed in one the directories and if not or you have a new website, then register yourself through free online high PR general directory submission sites, available to provide links so that search engine indexes the pages and enhances the visibility. Some free directory submission sites are:

There are two types of link directories are there:
  • Paid Only (P): For paid listings only
  • Free(F): For free listings
  • Reciprocal(R): For reciprocal links
Deep Links are inner pages of the website. When we have to provide an extra link to a page or to promote individual product we do Deep Link Directory Submission. Gaining huge links is not enough, it's more important to have a good number of links from sites within your niche/industry, considered as signs of strength, seriousness and popularity of your business. These types of links are hard to come by, because of the competition in industry. As search engine algorithms evolve, more weightage is given on topic related backlinks. A vertical in this sense is a business or niche directory submission. Many directories exist as a part of a network or a resource, so it’s a good idea to become a part of them and get involved in ventures related to your business.
